💧 New to North Irvine Water Polo?

We’re excited you're interested in joining! Before you get started, please note:

North Irvine Water Polo is not a swim school.
All athletes must already know how to swim and be comfortable in deep water.
If your child needs swim lessons, visit: www.speedaquatics.org

🧠 Evaluation vs. Tryout

🟦 Evaluation – For New Water Polo Athletes

If your athlete is new to water polo but can swim confidently, we’ll schedule a short evaluation to see if they’re ready for structured training.
We’ll assess:

  • Basic swimming ability

  • Comfort in the water

  • Athletic readiness

🟦 Tryout – For Experienced Players

If your athlete has previous water polo experience, we’ll schedule a tryout to place them in the right training group.

🔢 Age Group Placement

Your athlete’s age group is based on how old they are on August 1 of the current Junior Olympic year (example: for the 2025 season, age as of 8/1/25).

🚦Availability

We currently have limited spots in some training groups and will place athletes based on fit and readiness.
